Our 100th Uncrating Celebration!

It all began in 1987 when Anthony & Laura Ponter unveiled their newly arrived collection of sculpture purchased during their honeymoon in Zimbabwe. A small group of friends and family gathered at a private home to help unveil these soul-stirring works.

From there they took the show on the road and staged numerous fundraising exhibitions at museums and private institutions all over the country and as far away as Japan. It was obvious to Tony & Laura early on that the actual "opening of the crates" later to be termed "uncratings", gave collectors the opportunity to experience the exhilaration of being amongst the first to see the newest creations from a brilliant cadre of artists called Shona sculptors.

Come share this joyful phenomena with us as the crates crack and the shredded newpaper flies! There will be drawings for gift certificates and artwork throughout the day.

Fine wines and delectables will be served.
