New Artists: Atara Baker & Okaybabs Spirits in Stone proudly welcomes two world renowned artists to its African art section - Atara Baker and Okaybabs. Atara's paintings are interpretations of her experiences, particularly from the decade she spent in South Africa. Inspired by the culturally diverse communities that she found there, her "masks" series reflect a search for the primeval in oneself, and liberation from the constrictions of modern society. Nigerian born Okaybabs joyous, music-inspired paintings represent his quest to restore, uphold and preserve respect and dignity for humanity and spirit. He says...
