Art and Jewelry Gallery to assist in Fire Relief efforts.

In just a few short days, 24 fires combined into a storm that consumed over 516,000 acres between Santa Barbara to San Diego County. With seven deaths, 90 injuries, and over 880,000 evacuated from communities and homes, this might have been much worse if not for the amazing efforts of fire departments and other agencies who rallied a huge force to battle this cataclysmic event. In spite of all these efforts, the wind-driven flames moved too quickly to be stopped and consumed many home and businesses. The human cost was also devastating with the homes, beloved pets, lifelong belongings, family heirlooms and irreplaceable artworks being destroyed as people fled the fast-moving fire sometime with only minutes to spare.

Spirits in Stone has many friends and collectors in the fire ravaged area, and wants to be of aid and assistance to all those affected - not just for our friends and collectors, and also the general population.

To do so we are launching a campaign on several different fronts:

First...through Christmas, we are donating 5% of all sales from our Santa Barbara gallery to Direct Relief International. We chose this his amazing relief organization because it gets more done, for less cost, than practically any other similar agency in the world. Spending less than one-half of one percent of their annual support on fundraising and less than one percent on administration Direct Relief gets to the afflicted with almost none "sticking" to the organization. During the fires they marshaled resources in record time and got assistance out almost from day one, continuing to help now with the aftermath as people and communities try to put their loves back together. Forbes Magazine praised them for their integrity and abilities.

Second...we are contacting all the thousands of our Southern California collectors to offer free appraisals for insurance purposes, and...

Third...for those whose sculptures were damaged but retrievable, we have assembled an emergency sculpture restoration crew and will lovingly restore each and every damaged piece for free!

We are so grateful for the support we have received over the years from our Southern California family of collectors - we feel it is our turn to support them!
