This visual poem, "Words of Memory", presents an abstracted house with a warm red roof. The house symbolizes the places we call "home" and the memories we have gathered in those spaces. It is about the complexities and simplicities of life, the joy and pain, the comfort, safety, and refuge we create that form our memories of "home."

This masterpiece is included in Wosene's traveling solo exhibitions at the Neuberger Museum of Art (Purchase, NY); the Newark Museum (NJ); and the University of Iowa Museum of Art (Iowa City). It was also featured on the 2004 poster of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation's Poetry Festival.
